| Install the Velveteen and staple it down. Then lay the
center insert onto the baseboard, align the holes for the T-Nuts and
bolts, then screw in the bolts. The center should be completely secure
once it's mounted to the baseboard. Then just lay the racetrack and rail
on top and around it. It should fit like a glove. For the cloth, I used Velveteen from JoAnns. For the logo, I took the Velveteen to a "Airbrush" T-Shirt store. I had them airbrush the logo on for $35. The cards slide across it perfectly, and I'm told it'll last longer than silk screening. The table is still "unfinished." I still have to install the cupholders, stain/poly the wood, and saw 2" off the table legs. |

| Close up of felt insert, racetrack, and padded rail. This is unfinished. In this picture you can see that I haven't installed the Velveteen yet. I merely laid it on top to see what it would look like. | |
| Another angle of the "unfinished" table. | |
| Here you can see the baseboard (3/4" plywood"). The padded rail also comes down 3/4", so it covers up the edge of the racetrack (which is also 3/4"). I haven't mounted these pieces yet, and may not. It just depends on how sturdy they are. | |
| A shot from underneath. Here you can see the baseboard, the padded rail, and maybe a small portion of the edge of the racetrack. You can also see that I mounted the table legs directly to the baseboard (and did not use an extra scrap of wood). | |
| Under view of table legs. Legs are 29" tall. If you add that to the baseboard (3/4"), the table top (3/4"), you have a table that is 30.5" tall (not including the extra 3/4"+ above it all for the padded rail). That's just too tall. I'm going to cut down my table legs (using a Jigsaw) about 2". Some people have cut off 2.5"-3", but the general consensus is that 2" is enough. I can always cut off more later. | |
| Overhead shot ot table. Still have to drill the cup holders and stain/poly the wood. | |
