Installing Table Legs

Now it's time to mount the table legs. Simply remove and set aside all pieces, except for the baseboard. Flip the baseboard over and align the legs. I don't think is matters where you actually mount the legs, but you obviously don't want them too close to the edge, or the table will sag in the middle.

I laid them down so that when they are folded down, the ends of the legs almost touch. I then measured from each end of the table to make sure the legs were properly centered (do the same thing for the sides too).

Once you're happy with the placement, drill the wood screws in and mount those suckers!

Here is a view of the baseboard, racetrack and padded rail. The center/felt insert has been removed.

When I mounted the folding legs, I used wood screws that were slightly too long (didn't want to make a 100th trip to Home Depot to buy shorter screws). As you can see, the tips of the screws are sticking out of the wood. I just cut them off with a rotary tool. It took 2 minutes. I recommend using screws no longer than 3/4".
